Photography Blogs

Nobody wants to be the owner of blog that looks inactive or dead, but coming up with new content all the time can be a real challenge for many photographers, especially those who feel they "can't write" (another myth by the way). Often times, they will stare at a blank screen until they're blue in the face, and then simply give up when nothing obvious springs to mind.

The truth is that writer's block is really an illusion, and coming up with new ideas and topics for a photography blog is a lot easier than many photographers imagine.

What To Blog About?

This question baffles so many photography bloggers, especially those who are new to the experience. In a lot of cases this can mean hours spent at the keyboard, gazing at an empty Word document, and straining to come up with something they can use. All too often, the temptation is to give up and return to it later when inspiration strikes, or simply post a few photos, which is a poor substitute for engaging content.

However, waiting for inspiration to arrive out of the blue can be a futile strategy too; it's just not going to happen, at least not very often.

Eliminating Writer's Block Permanently

The evidence that writer's block is really a myth is all around us! If there really were such a thing, there would be very few newspapers or magazines, books, TV shows, or radio shows and podcasts.

Being paid to produce content on a consistent basis is a reality for a lot of writers, the vast majority of whom we've never heard of because they're just quietly getting on with it. In fact, they face a very simple truth every day of their working lives. If they fail to produce content, or allow themselves to succumb to writer's block, then they're out of a job.

Of course, such work is not always easy but having to work hard at it, and giving in to "writer's block", are quite different.

Journalists and article writers don't have the luxury of being able to sit around waiting for inspiration to strike. Instead, they must go out and find stories to report on.

Photography bloggers can do the exact same thing, and it turns out there are usable ideas to be found everywhere.

Where Can We Get Photography Blog Ideas?

Ideas don't simply materialize out of thin air. When a brilliant idea does come along, it's often a reaction to something else, perhaps something we saw, read, or heard. In other words, we are more likely to come up with something we can use by absorbing and responding to everything that's happening around us and in our world.

As you can see, there are a wealth of ideas out there, all waiting to have a personal stamp placed on them, and the more we practice this, the more ideas we'll have, and writer's block will become a thing of the past.
